A while ago my charming friend Aleks asked me to take a set of analogue pictures for her with one of those trashy disposable cameras. I just found these and fell in love. Don't you like the grain? ...does anyone want to give me a photoshop-layer for that? Otherwise I will just have to do this more often.

Ever dropped your phone in the toilet? Well, I did a couple months ago. Ever spilled a beer on your laptop? Well, I just did. Hope I can still write tomorrow. If not, I must say: it was nice to know you.

Last Monday I was taking photos for a friend when my camera suddenly wouldn't trigger anymore. I went home in a shock without saying bye to anyone, getting a huge thing of fries on the way, being puzzled.

The next day I realized in tears that it really happened and have been desperately camera-less ever since. If anyone wants to give away their Pentax for free or cheap, I'm in. Preferably K10d, K20d or K7. I will need it very soon.

I am sorting out to do lists: What's to do?
- recover from my surgery last week
- take pictures of some events and actors within the next days
- edit a ton of photos
- make a phone call to Rome
- book a flight for New York City in May
- plan Nadine's and my trip to Macedonia in June
- move from Friedrichshain to Mitte in April
- buy a new computer
- start Arno Fischer's master class on sunday

The sun is shining. Things are good.

The cold over the past months forced me photography-wise to mostly stick to whatever is there instead of taking pictures of people (frozen to icecubes), which I enjoy much more. However, sometimes taking pictures of whatever is there turns out to be great as well. I spent the weekend at home with the family and visited my mom at University Duisburg/Essen on monday. Besides watching her expertise on mini jobs and minimum wage at the conference she was attending, I had a nice view over the chimneys of the Ruhrpott from her office: This might be the beginning of a true romance with the city I was born in but have never seen since.

I slipped on ice and hardwood floor, hurt my hand, bun, head and stomach, almost got run over by tramways twice, got hit by chunks of melting snow falling from the roofs...

Last night I dreamed of laying by the lake side in the burning sun. Let's do it, soon - 'cause I'm just so sick of winter all together.

The cold outside is making me slow and sleepy. I just need a little temperature, really. I took these in december back at home when it was almost warm compared to now, but the colors match my mood today.

Happy Holidays everyone. After eating and drinking for a week straight I am now absolutely exhausted and need a break. Coming back to Berlin on tuesday and planning to do a kind of yearbook like last year. I hope I can make it!
